Baldur’s Gate 3 is 2023’s Game of the Year, and for good reason. The Dungeons and Dragons-based game is full of interesting characters, an intriguing storyline, and a surprising amount of tentacle sex. The game’s strength lies in the freedom it gives players. With twelve unique classes to choose from, new players may be overwhelmed. The Hare has come up with a comprehensive guide to which class you should play based on your major.
Physics: Cleric
No one, not even yourself, knows why you chose this major. It’s a very painful journey, but it is definitely your calling.
Computer Science: Barbarian
This may be a controversial selection, as some may think of comp sci students as intellectuals. However, Barbarian is the only class that I think could smell as bad as a comp sci student.
Information Science: Fighter
I’m sorry computer science didn’t work out for you. Info sci is a very useful degree, if a bit basic.
Animal Science: Druid
This one was obvious. You probably told everyone you were a werewolf in middle school.
Math: Monk
All you ever think about is math. Why would you do that to yourself?
Astronomy: Paladin
Astronomy majors are pretty chill and are becoming more and more common. You aren’t religious, but you worship Neil deGrasse Tyson like a god.
Criminology and Criminal Justice: Ranger
You are constantly on the hunt for the truth and justice and could definitely hide a body.
Government and Politics: Rogue
Like the Rogue, your major is a popular choice. However, you’re sneaky and rarely have good intentions.
Economics: Wizard
Playing a Wizard is a lot like being an econ major; it’s a lot of staring at numbers and careful selection of cells, lest you fuck up your entire party (or spreadsheet).
Business: Sorcerer
You’re really just a less cool version of economics. You’re charismatic yet severely underqualified for that internship at your dad’s company. Yay, nepotism!
Engineering: Warlock
We get it, you’re smart and constantly tormented by your decisions. Warlock is a no-brainer for engineering. Both sell their souls: Warlocks to gods and engineers to defense contractors.
English: Bard
Yell at me all you want about how music majors should be the musical class. English majors are the only ones with enough D&D campaigns under their belts to encapsulate the spirit of the Bard.
